Jubo League leader’s death sparks protest in Patuakhali

The incident sparks protest in the coastal town.

Mohmudur Rahman Palash died on board an ambulance in Razoir area of Madaripur district. He was critically injured by party rivals while the Awami League (AL) youth wing's district council was being held, according to family and party sources.

He was under treatment at a local clinic for the last few days.

On arrival of the body, a procession was brought out in Patuakhali town by the victim's relatives and party men. A meeting was also held at in front of the local press club.

Patuakhali district AL president Shahjahan Mia was assaulted by Jubo League activists when tried to visit the victim's home at about 11 am.
