AIDS patient detected in Jessore
An AIDS patient has been detected at a village in Sharsha upazila.
Jessore Red Crescent Society secretary Zahid Hasan disclosed this at a press conference held here on Monday.
He said the victim, a young woman, went to Mumbai in India in 1997. She stayed there in a brothel till 2004. She returned home this year and fell ill. After testing her blood at Jessore Red Crescent Blood Donation Centre, germs of AIDS was detected. Later, she was sent to Dhaka where further tests confirmed that she was an AIDS patient.
