Tk 50 cr Amtali-Kalapara road approved

The 25-kilometre road is a portion of the Patuakhali-Kuakata road.

According to an official, the Danida assisted project was approved after 10 months at a meeting presided over by Finance and Planning Minister Saifur Rahman.

After approval, it was sent to the Cabinet Committee.

The project is supposed to be completed within one-and-a-half-years. On its completion, work on the Kalapora-Kuakata road will begin.

The Patuakhali-Kuakata road development project involving Tk 126 crore was taken up considering the prospect of tourism in Kuakata and fish farming in the nearby area.

Earlier, the 30-kilometre Patuakhali-Amtali road was constructed at a cost of Tk 44 crore provided by Danida.
