Tension in Kaliganj as rivals call programmes on same spot

Sources said, Kaligonj Upazila Landless Association announced a programmes for a broomstick procession and a rally on Kaliganj Upazila Parishad premises. The association will demand withdrawal of Kaliganj thana Officer-in-Charge Kamruzzaman and announce a programme to boycott Champa Phoo Union Council Chairman Mozammel Haq.

To counter this, the 12 UP chairmen in Kaliganj upazila have announced a program to hold a rally at the same venue at the same time.

All the chairman through microphone are urging the people to join their program.

On the other hand, the landless people are also determined to hold their programme.

On contact, Kaliganj thana OC confirmed the separate programmes by the rival organisations and said police will be deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
