Three arrested for distorting Islam

Keshabpur police Tuesday night arrested three persons for preaching distorted versions of Islam at Altapole village.

They are Mahabullah of Pulirhati village in Keshabpur upazila and his two associates Ahad and Abdul Wahab of Altapole village.

At a gathering at the house of one Tabibor Rahman in Altapole village, they were preaching that prayers should be offered three times a day and 'khatna' (circumcision) and 'korbani' (sacrifice of animals in Eid-ul-Azha) are not essential for a Muslim, according to police and locals.

At this local people became angry, attacked them and ransacked the house.

Being informed, Keshabpur police led by OC arrested the three persons.
