JP office-bearers quit to protest new committee

Forty-three office bearers out of 51 have resigned from Sadullapur upazila unit of Jatiya Party as the new committee has been formed sidetracking the party lawmaker from the area TIM Fazly Rabbi Chowdhury.

This was stated by the renegade party men at a press conference held at Gaibandha Press club on Friday. They were led by former president of Sadullapur JP Azizul Islam.

He told the press conference that they have resigned as the new committee has been formed without taking any suggestion from Fazly Rabbi Chowdhury.

The 51-member new committee was formed recently by Abdur Rashid Sarker, president of Gaibandha district JP, he said. Some others who resigned from the party also spoke at the press conference.
