Bridegroom drowns as trawler sinks

Reports received from Kalapara said a trawler carrying about 60 passengers including the bridal party were going to Safakhali village of Mithakhali union to receive Yasmin Akter, 26,the bride.

But moments before reaching the destination the trawler hit a pillar of Safakhali bridge and capsized on the spot.

All the bridal party members swam ashore but the bridegroom drowned. He was rescued and rushed to local health complex but the attending doctors declared him dead.
