BNP-BCL clash: Sec 144 at Enayetpur
The district administration yesterday imposed Section 144 at Enayetpur here following a clash between the activists of BNP and Chhatra League over calling meetings at the same time and venue.
At least 10 people were injured in the clash. The injured are undergoing treatment at Enayetpur Khaza Yunus Ali (R) Medical College and Hospital, Sirajganj Sadar Hospital and local clinics in the town.
Police said Enayetpur thana Chhatra League called a meeting in the morning at a ground near Ena-yetpur thana in connection with their conference. BNP also called another meeting at the same time and venue.
When the BCL conference started at 11 am, some unruly BNP activists swooped on the BCL activists on the dais resulting in the clash. Police charge batons and brought the situation under control.
