A nine-day programme has been chalked out to mark the occasion locally known as 'Oaggyapoye' (worship of Buddha).

The main attraction of the programme, `Roth Jatra' (chariot procession) will begin from a Buddhist temple, Rajguru Keyang, this evening after 'Prodip Puja' (worship by lighting candle). On the way it will go through Bouddho Bihar at Uzani Para.

After dusk, baloons will be released and teenagers and youths will start making cakes in groups. The following day the festival will end through distribution of cakes among their relatives and neighbours.
