A bomb exploded when a dog was toying with it on the yard of businessman's house at Alukodia in Chuadanga Sadar upazila on Sunday. The incident created a panic in the area but none, not even the dog, was hurt.

Police said the bomb looking like a Jarda (chewing tobacco) pot was tossed on the house of Bablu Saturday night by some unidentified miscreants. But it did not explode.

Unknowingly, Bablu's wife picked it up on Sunday morning and threw it away. Yet, it did not explode, police said quoting her.

It exploded with a big bang a short while after her pet started toying with it.

When asked, S I Sharmin Akhter at Chauadanga Sadar thana said some extremists recently demanded illegal toll from Bablu but he refused to pay. The bomb might have been hurled on his house by them, he said.

A Correspondent reports from Narsingdi: Two bombs were found on the roof of a market in Narsingdi town Saturday evening when people were busy Eid shopping.

Some construction workers saw the bomb on the roof of Khorshed Alam Hazari Market and informed shop owners.

Police recovered the bombs wrapped with black tape. They said miscreants might have kept the bombs there but they did not explode because of stagnant rainwater on the roof.
