Bomb threat scares Barisal judges

The wife of Md Quddus Zaman, Second Additional District Judge of Barisal, who was transferred from here earlier received the threat in a letter sent to her recently.

The threat was given apparently by the regional commander of Khulna divisional unit of Manobadhikar Rakkha-O-Uddharkari Bahini from Kusthia. He demanded withdrawal of a proposed project of Tata Company in Kushtia. Tight security measures have been taken in and around the court premises and the court rooms are being checked frequently.

Barisal District Judge Md Shafiruddin demanded adequate security measures in the residential areas of judges. The Joint District Judge of Third court here, Md Asaduzzaman expressed his concern over the safety and security of judges. While contacted, Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) said mobile armed teams have been deployed in the residential areas of judges from October 27.
