Youth jailed for rape attempt
A Madaripur court on Tuesday sentenced a youth, Mohammad Atiqur Rahman Khan, to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment (RI) for attempting to rape a 12-year-old girl on October 3, 2001.
Judge Syed Altaf Hossain of the Second Special Tribunal for Prevention of Women and Children Repression handed down the sentence.
Atiq, son of Ayub Ali Khan of Shibchar upazila entered the house of Lalmiah and kidnapped his daughter Mariam at gunpoint.
