Robbery at ADB official's house
A gang of robbers Monday night looted valuables worth over Tk 1 lakh from the house of an ADB (Asian Development Bank) official in Rajair upazila in Madaripur.
The robbers, 15 in number, entered the tin-roofed village home of Gobanda Bar, ADB's National Officer, at Harinagar village by making a hole.
The robbers, many of them carrying firearms, tied up Gobinda's sexagenarian mother Kamala Bar, brother Harprasad and a nephew before the looting.
The looted valuables included five 5 tolas of gold.
A case was filed but police failed to recover the looted valuables till yesterday evening.
According to locals, about 60 robbery incidents took place in Rajair and Gopalganj in last one month.
