Hartal called in Manikganj for today
Awami League-led 14-party alliance has called a half-day hartal in Manikganj today protesting arrest of its 25 leaders and activists in the district ahead of its June 11 'Dhaka siege' programme.
The hartal programme was announced at a meeting of the alliance, held at the district AL office yesterday.
The meting condemned the arrests and called upon the people to observe hartal for their immediate release.
The arrestees include Manik-ganj Juba League President Sudev Saha, AL Youth and Sports Secretary AFM Sultanul Azam Khan, Chhatra League (BCL) Organising Secretary Hashem Ali.
