2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe

The ATS coupe is a small (by American standards), compact luxury coupe aimed at the college graduation gift-buying crowd.

Don’t think of it as a floaty American barge ferrying around college kids, though, because the ATS promises proper handling characteristics thanks to a 50/50 weight distribution and a lightweight body/chassis.

Offered in either rear wheel or all-wheel drive, the ATS doesn’t offer a big stonking V8 under the hood. Rather, you get more economical and efficient 2.0 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder or a 3.6 litre V6 engine. Estimated 0-60 mph time for the 4 cylinder model is around 5.6 seconds, which is not bad at all.

It’s not particularly good looking, but the straight, clean lines are elegant and classy. It’s not going to set any teenagers’ pants on fire, though.
