2015 Hyundai Genesis

2015 Hyundai Genesis

This is the newest horse in Hyundai’s stable, an addition to Hyundai’s army planned for taking over the world.

Hyundai has been praised around the world for being ballsy enough to market their luxury premium models using the Hyundai badge, a strategy most of the bigger Japanese brands employed in the early 90’s (Lexus, Acura and Infiniti, anyone?). This shows they’re confident in their ability to engineer good cars, and its certainly winning them points.

The Genesis comes with an all-wheel drive system known as HTRAC, and the list of tech features and luxury additions could stretch the length of a crass Hummer stretch limousine. The engine is a 5.0-liter “Tau” V8 engine, producing 420 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 383 lb. ft. of torque. Combined with an extra rigid chassis and properly tuned handling dynamics, the Genesis promises rapid performance as well.

The design is strikingly elegant, with bits and pieces mimicking the BMW 7-series. Straight lines, a bold grille, and premium colors feature on the flagship Hyundai model. Interestingly enough, the car features absolutely no Hyundai badges anywhere, replaced with a winged badge that simply says “Genesis”.

It would do brilliantly in Dhaka, undercutting its more expensive rivals, and judging by the success of the Sonata in the local market, there aren’t any reservations against the Hyundai badge anymore in Bangladesh. We would definitely want to see the Genesis around these parts.
