A day out with the bondhus of Bondhu Garage

The dawn broke with the sound of young voices. A vibrant group of young people had gathered at The Base Camp in Gojariapara, Gazipur on a beautiful Friday morning. Aside from greenery, the camp offers different outdoor activities like monkey pass, rope trench, rope walk, tire run, tire sand, hop n jump and more. All the adventure lovers of Grameenphone's 'Bondhu Garage' gathered here to celebrate the day with their fellow bondhu in 'Adventure Mania'.

Bondhu Garage is Grameenphone's official Facebook page for their young customers where they share their ideas and expectations. It's not only about adventure; it's also about sharing interests through different activities organised by Bondhu Garage. On November 22, Bondhu Garage organised the daylong event for 30 adventurous bondhu, selected from a prior Facebook competition. They were divided in 15 groups and competed against each other in different outdoor activities. The entire event was moderated by the COO of Base Camp, Ashad Pappu, and supported by two renowned mountaineers of Bangladesh, Mohammed Mohiuddin and Nur Mohammad. Participants also get to enjoy their stories of Himalaya expeditions.

The whole competition was divided into three rounds. All groups took part in the first round in eight activities. The first eight groups went to the second round and participated in four games, and the first four groups went straight to the finals. The final four went through the toughest two games and first two teams were announced as winner and runner-up.

The first prize winners were Rahatul Ashik, a graduate student from Jahangirnagar University and Navid Hasan, a graduate from National University. Both were ecstatic to be part of the event and for being the final winner of Adventure Mania.

This was not the end, however. Bondhu Garage announced that their next adventure will be in the Sundarbans, towards the end of this month. Faces of all the bondhu lit up with the anticipation of the unknown journey.
