Luke Evans joins “Girl on the Train”

Luke Evans has joined the cast of DreamWorks' adaptation of Paula Hawkins' best-seller “The Girl on the Train” starring Emily Blunt.

Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux and Allison Janney also star in the film. Tate Taylor is directing.

The story follows a woman (Blunt) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect married couple who live in a house that her train passes every day. Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the couple.

Evans will play the husband of a neighbor (Bennett) who goes missing.

Erin Cressida Wilson penned the script. Marc Platt will produce through his banner along with Jared LeBoff serving as exec producer.

The film bows on October 7, 2016.
