Ban plying of merchant ships thru' Sundarbans

An oil tanker carrying 358,000 litres of furnace oil sank in the river Shela near the Sundarbans on December 9 after it was hit by a cargo vessel. The oil has been spreading fast and animals have already started to die. Biodiversity of this world heritage site has come under threat due to the negligence of the shipping ministry because they allowed commercial vessels to ply through the rivers of the Sundarbans. They should be held responsible for this disastrous incident. These marine vessels should be banned from using the Sundarbans route.
