Basically a producer has to be the power of everything in making a program. A producer is called “Captain of The Ship”.
In television jobs the producers, directors and cameramen are put in the same structure. But a director and a cameraman have to move under a producer's direction. A producer himself also can take initiative or plan for making a program.
After planning for a program the producer holds a meeting with the directors and cameramen. If they need then they also sit with the artists. Previously it has been said that the television program must be made on a script. When a program gets shoot the producer sitsduring the whole time taking the power of everything. And the assistant producer stays at the panel. The involved officials will keep working with their related works. But everyone will have the copy of the script.They will work according to that script. Even the program of game shows and contests in television are also based on the script.
It can be asked how the quiz contests or game shows can be based on scripts. Does that mean the whole contest ispre-planned? Only the contest part is not the pre-planned. But there are many things which are pre-planned. The whole contest gets dramatized again in front of camera. During the play the producer takes helps from all of his team. Who will lose the contest what would be his or her expression, who will win what would be his or her expression – everything gets decided by the team who stays behind the scene.
That is why the audiences become emotional seeing their expressions. Usually TV programs were used to make through rehearsal due to which with only two cameras a program could have been done. But now, the days are changing. Now no script is needed in making program. In most cases dramas are also made without script. No scripts are needed in talk shows or in musical program since script is the first term in making a good quality program.

Nowadays reality shows are seen in many channels. Most of the people may think that this type of programs is made instantly. But the theme of a reality show is made by a huge research team. How the participants will act, how they will speak and walk everything gets decided by the research team.
Sitting in front of television the audiences literally cannot understand which type of things they are watching. Without this type of pre-planned things it is hard to make good quality program in television. At least the producers of former Pakistan Television used to believe so. That is why getting a script of a drama the producer used to read that out at first.He then used to edit the script. Then after sitting with the artists more changes used to come up. There was a quote about this; the playwright used to write dramas in the opposite side of the page where the drama which has already got telecasted is written.
Initially the scripts of television dramas were written in white pages. The white page used to be divided vertically into two parts. In one side there were the dialogues and in another side there was the description of the scene. It means, what will be showed through the camera along with the dialogues was written in the description.
In case of songs, the producer used to check up the lyrics. He then used to plan the scene according to that lyric. While planning about the scene the producer not only used to talk to his team but also memorized the whole song. Producers quotes regarding this, if we do not memorize the song then how will we cut the shots?
Nowadays many music videos are getting made. But does any producer think that he should memorize the song? The audiences even don't think how many people works for a making the music video so as the producer. At that time the producer used to put the credit line at the end of the program confirming the quality of the program so that the audience will wait till the end to know who were behind the scene.
But nowadays, producer puts the name of the people those were behind the scene at the first part of the program since he even doesn't have the trust whether the audiences will see the whole program
