Robi Career Carnival
Offering great opportunities for fresh graduates and students
The premise of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) turned into a vibrant venue of opportunities for its students to network with one of the top corporate houses in the country.
Dozens of experts and corporate personalities offered new visions for fresh graduates and students of the institution, who are often tensed about their careers.
Robi Axiata Limited, one of the leading cellular phone operators in the country, brought this opportunity for the students by organising the daylong event, “Robi Career Carnival” on CUET campus on October 29.
Instant consultation with experts, on-site appointment, selection for internship, career seminar and various competitions made the career carnival
a perfect platform for fresh graduates and students.
Sharmin Sultan, Vice President (Resourcing), Robi Axiata Limited, said, “Robi tried to make the students of CUET aware of the career opportunities available at the company and the industry at large. As part of the carnival, an on-campus recruitment test was also conducted for CUET students interested to join Robi.”
CUET students were also made aware of career opportunities beyond mobile technology within the mobile telecom industry. An open discussion was organised for CUET students to share knowledge and experiences on career planning and development.
Similar activities were held at East Delta University in the Port City on October 26. A career workshop was also organised at the Asian University for Women on the same day.

CLEAR offers fun and games on DU Campus
A CORRESPONDENT
Last week, Clear shampoo started their marketing campaign for the Tk 3 mini-pack by organising events at all the girls' halls in University of Dhaka.
The events were held at the different halls on different dates -- starting with Begum Fazilatun Nesa Mujib Hall, followed by Shamsunnahar Hall and then Ruqaiyyah Hall, Kobi Sufia Kamal Hall, and finally Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall. Some of the fixtures had to be shifted due to hartals. The organisers were given a time slot of one day -- from 11 am to 4 pm -- for each hall.
The event primarily consisted of some mini-games. There were three levels. Girls could try them at any time and if they passed a level, they could proceed to the next. If someone managed to clear all the levels, they would be given a free hair wash. The first level was a mini-bowling game. If someone managed to get a strike, she could then try her luck at mini-golf. A hole in one would see her going to the next and final level -- hair braiding challenge. The idea was to braid your hair as quickly as possible and if someone managed to do so within the minute mark, she would clear that level as well.
The three different levels signified the three benefits you could supposedly get from the Clear Tk 3 mini-pack 'Zero Dandruff, Healthy Hair' and 'Nourished Skull'. The hair washes were given in a separate compartment that was closed off to give privacy and it was sufficiently neat and clean for good hygiene. Lastly, every girl who participated was given a free mini-pack.
The campaign was to promote Clear shampoo, in particular the mini-pack as well as the 20 percent extra they were offering in their shampoo products.
There was a good participation by the girls at all the halls. The campaign, although a promotional event, helped provide recreation and entertainment at the halls with the games.
