Ex-bank cashier jailed for 3yrs

A Dhaka court today sentenced a former bank cashier to three years' imprisonment in a case filed for misappropriating Tk 38.78 lakh.

Mizanur Rahman, former cashier of the Premier Bank's Nawabpur Branch, was also fined Tk 38.78 lakh, in default of which he will have to suffer in jail for one year more.

Judge Md Ataur Rahman of the Special Judge Court-1 of Dhaka handed down the sentence in presence of the convict this afternoon.
