Abdul Alim new vice-chairman of Standard Bank
AKM Abdul Alim has been elected as the vice-chairman of Standard Bank PLC.
The election was held at the 404th meeting of the board of directors of the bank in the capital recently, said a press release.
He is a member of the audit committee and observer of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of the bank.
He has been involved in multifarious business activities for over a decade.
Alim, an entrepreneur, is the director of Standard Bank Securities Ltd, Standard Express USA, and Midland Credit Co-operative Society Limited.
He is the proprietor of MAAS Corporation, and managing director and CEO of Global Leather Industry Limited.
Alim possesses expertise in international business and supply chain management with in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for the global financial market.
After passing O and A Levels from Scholastica, he obtained his bachelor's degree from North South University, Dhaka and did an MBA from the University of Bedfordshire, the UK.
