12kg LPG cylinder price rises by 6% to Tk 891

Star Business Report

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) of private companies by around 6 per cent.

According to the new rate, consumers will have to buy a 12kg LPG cylinder at Tk 891, which is Tk 49 up from the existing price of Tk 842.

The new price will become effective from tomorrow, BERC officials said at a virtual press conference today.

Meanwhile, the price of 12.5 kg LPG of the state-owned company has remained unchanged at TK 591 as the cost has not changed at the production stage, BERC said.

However, the price of LPG used in cars has been fixed at Tk 44 per litre. Earlier, it was TK 41.74 per litre.

With this, the BERC has adjusted the price of LPG for the third time in the country due to rising prices in the world market.

On April 12, the company set the price of LPG for the first time in the country.
