9 Regent Airways pilots serve legal notice on authorities
Nine Regent Airways pilots have served legal notice on the airline administration, demanding payment of unpaid salary and over other issues.
The pilots requested the airlines to pay for their simulator training and NOCs in a notice sent yesterday, so that they can find work in other organisations.
Regent Airways' Deputy Managing Director, Salman Habib, informed The Daily Star today that they will respond to the pilots through legal procedure.
Three months ago, they discussed reinstating the airline's operations, according to Salman. But resuming flights amid the second wave of Covid-19 would not be viable for the airline.
He refuted several claims, including not providing NOC, by stating that eight Regent Airways pilots are now employed by other airlines.
Salman also said, two of the nine pilots who have served legal notice are already working in other organisations.
"In that case, the allegation of not giving NOC is incorrect," he said.
He stated that they are serious about restoring airline operations but waiting for the right time.
Regent Airways pilots claim that they must complete specified trainings after a set amount of time in order to keep their licenses valid.
Pilots also stated that they are obtaining training at their own expense in order to maintain the validity of their licenses.
They said if the authorities do not respond to the legal notice, they will take legal action.
