Arabian food festival ‘Taste of Arabia’ begins at The Westin Dhaka today

The Westin Dhaka, in collaboration with BRAC Bank PLC, has launched an Arabian food festival, titled “Taste of Arabia”, at its signature restaurant Seasonal Taste, offering guests a culinary experience inspired by the traditional kitchens of Arabia.

The 10-day festival will run from July 30 to August 8, according to a press release.

The festival was inaugurated today at Prego, Level 23 of The Westin Dhaka, with a press meet and meet-and-greet event attended by diplomats, corporate leaders, aviation partners, media representatives, and invited guests.

Omar Mohie Eldin Ahmed Fahmy, Egyptian ambassador to Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest.

Adding authenticity to the celebration, Egyptian chef Mahmud Abdel Fattah, in collaboration with Executive Chef Shopon Rozario and The Westin Dhaka’s culinary team, has curated a menu showcasing the diverse culinary traditions of the Arab world.

The buffet features regional specialties including Signature Camel Kabsa, Camel Tagine, Sultan’s Camel Majboos, Lamb Quzi, Chicken Mandi, mixed grills, live Döner Kebab and Shawarma stations, traditional Mezze, freshly baked Arabic breads, and Arabian desserts.

The Taste of Arabia buffet dinner will be available daily from July 30 to August 8, from 6:30pm to 11:00pm, at Tk 9,450 net per person.

As the prime partner of the festival, BRAC Bank is offering dining privileges, including Buy 1 Get 3, Buy 1 Get 2, and Buy 1 Get 1 offers, along with free offers on selected BRAC Bank cards and cards from 22 other banks.

Air Arabia will offer two complimentary return tickets on the Dhaka-Sharjah-Dhaka route as the grand prize in a raffle draw during the festival.

Rashed Al-Mali Al-Zaabi, director of the Foreign Aid Office at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Bangladesh; Md Shakawath Hossain, chief executive officer of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC; Syed Md Mobin Rashid, country manager for Bangladesh at Air Arabia; Gary Farstad, general manager of The Westin Dhaka and Sheraton Dhaka; and Mamunur Rahman Shumon, director of sales and marketing, were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
