Banglalink organises ethics and compliance week
Banglalink, one of the country’s leading digital operators, has organised “Ethics & Compliance Week 2026” to promote ethics, integrity, transparency and responsible growth across its operations.
The five-day programme brought together leaders, employees, front-line workers, business partners and a visiting delegation from Banglalink’s parent company, VEON, according to a press release.
Johan Buse, chief executive officer of Banglalink, inaugurated the event and said it aimed to foster a shared commitment to principled decision-making, speaking up with confidence and building trust.
The mobile operator also held a leadership roundtable which featured a keynote presentation on integrity as a strategic advantage and setting an ethical tone at the top, followed by discussions on psychological safety, compliance culture, case studies and lessons from real-life situations.
An interactive CEO fireside chat focused on openness, trust, the courage to speak up and addressing ethical dilemmas. Regional leaders also engaged with key frontliners in discussions on responsible conduct and ethical culture.
Regional market visits provided insights into the business across urban and rural markets, as well as the experiences of customers, retailers and communities.
Around 80 representatives of local and international business partners and internal stakeholders joined a session titled “Building Trusted and Responsible Partnerships”, which focused on third-party risk management, integrity, transparency, responsible conduct and continuous compliance.
Cross-industry leaders from business partners shared practical experiences with VEON and Banglalink leadership and participated in a panel discussion on building trusted and sustainable business relationships.
Gabriela Gutierrez, group head of Ethics & Compliance, said the event demonstrated how integrity can become part of everyday business practices.
Muniruzzaman Sheikh, chief ethics and compliance officer, said ethics and compliance become meaningful when embedded in how everyone leads, performs and collaborates every day.
Sarwat Salauddin, group head of investigations at VEON; Dovgulya Sergey Igorevich, interim head of compliance culture and engagement; and Ahsan Minto, group investigations senior manager, were also present.
