Dhaka stocks edge higher after two-day slump

Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose in early trade today, recovering from the losses of the previous two sessions as the market looks to close the week on a high note.

The DSEX, the main gauge of the premier bourse, increased 20.93 points, or 0.4 percent, to 5,137.44 by 11:34am, according to DSE data.

Sentiment was positive, with the Shariah-compliant DSES and the blue-chip DS30 indices edging higher.

Turnover, a key measure of investor participation, stood at Tk 151.38 crore at the time.

Market breadth was mostly positive, with 204 issues advancing against 104 declining, while 80 remained unchanged.
