Planning minister’s remark on budget isn’t comprehensible: Kamal

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today said the planning minister's remarks on "polishing budget" for the next financial year is not understandable for him.

Responding to a question from reporters, Kamal said, "Like you, I did not understand the issue. If you talk to the Minister of Planning, you will know what he means."

The finance minister was talking to the media after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement.

He said the proposal of the planning ministry has also been accepted while formulating the budget.

Planning Minister MA Mannan, addressing a webinar yesterday, said the proposed budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year should be polished.

However, responding to a question about the uncertainty about the vaccine with the increase in coronavirus infection, the finance minister further said, "I am also concerned about getting a vaccine like you."

But hopefully, there will be a positive solution soon, Kamal added.
