Remove import tariff on sunflower, canola oil: Commerce Ministry
The commerce ministry has suggested all kinds of import tariff on sunflower and canola oil should be withdrawn in order to increase their stock in the country.
The ministry made the call on Monday in a letter to the National Board of Revenue and other ministries and department concerned.
In a circular, the commerce ministry also said the government wants to increase stock of edible oil in the domestic market so that the consumers can buy cooking oil at an affordable price.
Last week the government reduced the price of edible oil because of a fall in its rates in the international markets.
