‘Set aside special allocation for SME Foundation’

Specific budget allocation is required for the SME Foundation to ensure easy financing for the entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises, said speakers at a webinar.

"To various plans including SME policy and five-year strategic plan, it requires a specific budget allocation every year in favour of the SME Foundation to ensure easy financing for SME entrepreneurs," said Md Mafizur Rahman, managing director of the SME Foundation.

He was addressing a webinar jointly organised by SME Foundation and UNIDO to mark MSME Day 2021 today.

To create decent employment and improve the living standards of the micro, small and medium sector, the United Nations declared June 27, 2017 as International MSME Day.

As such, this day has been celebrated for the fifth time all over the world.

For the first time, the SME Foundation has officially taken the initiative to celebrate 'MSME Day' through various events.
