Stocks drop in first two hours

The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped today in the first two hours after rising for two consecutive days.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, fell 31 points, or 0.46 per cent, to 6,723 until 12.10 pm.

At the DSE, 85 stocks advanced, 252 declined and  41 remained unchanged.

Stocks of Beximco Ltd traded mostly that worth Tk 23 crore followed by Asia Insurance, One Bank, Fortune Shoes, and Global Insurance.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also fell today.

The CASPI, the main index of the CSE, edged down 104 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 19,563.

Among 219 stocks traded, 60 rose, 131 fell and 28 remained the same.
