Islami Bank to provide salary account services to railway co-op members

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC recently signed a corporate agreement with Bangladesh Railway Co-operative Credit Society Limited to provide salary account services.

Under the agreement, the members of Bangladesh Railway Co-operative Credit Society Limited will be able to maintain salary accounts, deposit funds into the society’s account, and conveniently pay installments on loans taken from the society through Islami Bank.

M Kamal Uddin Jasim, additional managing director of the bank, and Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, president of the society and chief operating superintendent (West) of Bangladesh Railway, signed the agreement at a programme held at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka, according to a press release.

Md Afzal Hossain, director general of Bangladesh Railway, attended the programme as the chief guest.

Md Maznuzzaman, executive vice-president of the bank; ANM Tawhidul Islam, assistant vice-president; FM Mohiuddin, Mohammad Nazmul Islam and Md Rofiqul Bari Khan, assistant director generals of Bangladesh Railway; and Md Sakhawat Hossain, secretary of the society, along with senior officials from both organisations, were also present at the programme.
