Prime Bank, Mastercard unveil next-gen NFC sticker card ‘TapIn’
Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with Mastercard, has launched a next-generation NFC-enabled debit sticker card, branded “TapIn”, expanding contactless payment options for customers in Bangladesh.
Developed and powered by IDEMIA, in collaboration with local partner ADN Technologies Ltd, the sticker card is designed to offer a fast, secure and seamless payment experience, particularly for customers with dynamic urban lifestyles.
M Nazeem A Choudhury, deputy managing director of Prime Bank PLC, and Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager for Bangladesh at Mastercard, jointly inaugurated the card at a ceremony held yesterday at Prime Tower in Dhaka, according to a press release.
Choudhury said the launch reflects the bank’s commitment to delivering innovative, secure and convenient payment solutions.
“As customer lifestyles evolve, we aim to provide seamless digital experiences that simplify everyday transactions while ensuring the highest standards of security and reliability,” he said.
Kamal noted that modern consumers expect payments to keep pace with their daily lives.
“TapIn introduces a smart, tap-and-go solution that combines convenience, security and style in one seamless experience,” he said, adding that the initiative aligns with Mastercard’s commitment to advancing next-generation digital payments and accelerating contactless adoption in Bangladesh.
The slim sticker card can be attached to smartphones, wallets or other personal items, enabling instant tap-and-go transactions at POS terminals locally and internationally.
It is protected by enterprise-grade encryption and advanced fraud-prevention systems to enhance transaction security.
Customers receive instant transaction notifications and real-time account visibility for improved financial control.
Cardholders can also withdraw cash from Prime Bank ATMs using MyPrime and enjoy year-round privileges at more than 10,000 Mastercard partner merchants across Bangladesh, along with exclusive global offers.
The TapIn sticker card is available at selected Prime Bank branches.
AM Ehsan-ul Haque, chief executive officer of ADN Technologies Ltd, was also present at the launch, along with senior officials from the participating organisations.
