Shimanto Bank, Dhaka South City Corp partner on tax, fee payments

Shimanto Bank PLC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to facilitate the payment of holding taxes, trade licence fees and other municipal charges through the bank.

Md Nurul Azim, managing director and CEO of the bank, and Md Khaybar Rahman, chief executive officer of the DSCC, signed the MoU at Nagar Bhaban in Gulistan, Dhaka recently, according to a press release.

Under the MoU, residents and business owners within the DSCC area will be entitled to pay their holding taxes, trade licence fees and other municipal charges through Shimanto Bank PLC.

Md Abdus Salam, administrator of the DSCC; Jonayed Kabir Sohag, chief revenue officer; and Md Sahidul Islam, head of business at the bank, along with senior officials from both institutions, were also present at the signing ceremony.
