US Embassy marks 250 years of American independence in Bangladesh

BanglaCAT, the authorised dealer of Caterpillar Inc in Bangladesh, has organised a special reception, titled “Freedom 250” in association with the US Embassy in Bangladesh at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View in the port city today, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America.

Brent T Christensen, US ambassador to Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Held under the global “Freedom 250” initiative, the event celebrated 250 years of freedom, innovation, progress and the enduring partnership between Bangladesh and the United States.

For over two decades, BanglaCAT has contributed to Bangladesh’s industrial development by delivering Caterpillar’s world-class American technology and engineering.

Today, it is the country’s leading captive power generation provider, with more than 65 percent of export-oriented industries relying on Caterpillar generators and over 5,000 Caterpillar machines supporting key sectors nationwide.

The US Army’s Tropic Lightning Band and Bangladesh’s Stone Free Band performed at the programme, entertaining the guests.

BanglaCAT reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Bangladesh-US ties through continued collaboration, innovation and sustainable progress, the release added.

Senior US Embassy officials, business leaders, stakeholders, guests and members of BanglaCAT’s management were also present.
