ACI Foods, BCSIR sign MoU to strengthen food research and quality
ACI Foods Limited and the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote research and innovation aimed at developing safer, more nutritious and higher-quality food products in Bangladesh.
The agreement was signed at the BCSIR office in Dhaka by Zakir Ibne Hai, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of ACI Foods Limited, and Mohammad Shahidul Hoque Patwary, Secretary of BCSIR, on behalf of their respective organisations, according to a press release.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Samina Ahmed, Chairman of BCSIR; Abul Fatah Md. Baligur Rahman, Member (Development); Dr. Mosammat Hosne Ara Begum, Member (Science and Technology); Manzur Morshed Ahmed, Director of IFST; Md. Nazimul Islam, General Manager of the PD & QA Department at ACI Foods; Chowdhury Tasmiah Jabeen, Business Manager of ACI Foods; and other officials from both organisations.
Under the partnership, ACI Foods and BCSIR will collaborate to improve food processing standards, enhance food quality and nutritional value, and expand access to safe and quality food products for consumers.
The two organisations will also work together on joint research, technical support, training programmes, seminars and knowledge-sharing initiatives. According to the press release, the collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for research-based food product innovation and development in Bangladesh's food industry.
