Apex Footwear concludes Apex Golf Tournament 2026 at Army Golf Club

Apex Footwear Limited has concluded the four-day Apex Golf Tournament 2026 at the Army Golf Club in Dhaka, marking one of the largest amateur golf events hosted at the venue.

The tournament was held from January 14 to January 17, 2026, with the closing ceremony taking place on January 31 at the Golf Garden of the Army Golf Club. The programme included prize distribution, a cultural segment and a gala dinner, says a press release.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest. Other guests included Lieutenant General Khan Firoz Ahmed, President of the Army Golf Club; Golam Mainuddin, Chairman of Apex Footwear Limited; and Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Limited.

Senior military officials present included Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Army Golf Club; Brigadier General Akhter Shahid, Chairman of the Tournament Committee; Brigadier General Mohammad Shariful Islam, Golf Captain; Lieutenant Colonel Sayful Islam, Member Secretary; Lieutenant Colonel Md Gholam Monzoor Siddique, Director of Operations and Sports; and Lieutenant Colonel AKM Saiful Bahar, Director of Administration and Management.

A total of 813 amateur golfers competed in five categories: Regular, Veteran, Senior, Lady and Junior.

Colonel Imtiaz Mahmud won the overall championship. Category winners were Colonel Mohammad Mohiuddin (Retd) in the Veteran category, Brigadier General Abdullah-Al-Azhar (Retd) in the Senior category, Sarmin Jahangir in the Lady category, and Syed Mahdi Mahbeer in the Junior category.

Senior officials of Apex Footwear Limited, including Chief Executive Officer Firoz Mohammad, were also present at the event.
