DIU welcomes freshers for Summer 2026 semester

Daffodil International University (DIU) organised its “Orientation Program Summer 2026” for newly admitted students at the Daffodil Smart City campus.

The programme marked the formal beginning of the academic journey for students joining the Summer 2026 semester, according to a press release.

Actor Zahid Hasan attended the event as special guest. The programme was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor M R Kabir.

Deans, department heads, faculty members and administrative officials were also present.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees Md Sabur Khan delivered a welcome message through video.

The event included a “Club Recruitment Program” organised by the Office of Student Affairs, where students learned about different university clubs and co-curricular activities.

The orientation also featured an experience-sharing session by alumni from different faculties.

The speakers included ASM Arif, creative lead at Rancon Auto Division-2; Mehedi Hasan Bappy, project coordinator at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition and advisory board member of AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme; Nusrat Jahan, principal officer at Janata Bank PLC; and A M Tajuddin Ahmed, chief executive officer of Akand Engineering.

The alumni shared their professional experiences and advised students on career development and the use of university facilities.

Students were welcomed with flowers at the beginning of the programme.

Awards were also distributed among winners of university sports events and academically successful students from the previous semester.

The event concluded with cultural performances by teachers and students.

The university said the programme was organised to help new students adapt to university life and support their academic development.
