Gallery Mafa opens in Dhaka with inaugural group exhibition
A new art gallery, Gallery Mafa (Mostafiz Academy of Fine Arts), has opened in Lalmatia, Dhaka, with an inaugural exhibition featuring works by 44 artists.
The gallery has been established by artist Mostafizul Haque, according to a press release.
The opening exhibition includes works by both veteran and emerging artists from different parts of the country.
The inauguration ceremony included discussions, floral greetings and a ribbon-cutting programme.
Artists Hashem Khan, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam and Abul Barak Alvi attended the event.
The organisers said the gallery aims to create an open platform for artists with different artistic practices and perspectives.
The exhibition features works by both late and contemporary artists, including figurative and non-figurative pieces.
According to the organisers, the gallery seeks to provide artists with a supportive and creative environment.
