ISU holds research recognition ceremony

International Standard University (ISU) organised a research recognition ceremony at its media lab to honour academic contributions and research excellence.

Professor Md Hakikur Rahman, head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, was recognised for his contributions to research and knowledge-based education, according to a press release.

The programme was organised by the CSE Department and chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Awal Khan.

Professor Harikumar Pallathadka, chancellor of Manipur International University in India, attended as chief guest and presented a PhD recognition award to Md Hakikur Rahman.

Speaking at the event, Abdul Awal Khan said ISU continues to prioritise research, innovation and academic excellence, highlighting the role of research-based education in national development and global competitiveness.

Harikumar Pallathadka said research contributes to the international standing of universities and noted that the academic work of Md Hakikur Rahman has received international recognition.

Md Hakikur Rahman said research should contribute to society through the practical application of knowledge.

The programme was attended by deans, department heads, faculty members, students and university officials, including Professor Monjur Morshed Mahmud, Professor Md Abul Kashem, Professor Mohammad Ekramul Hoque, Professor Mohammad Ali and Registrar Md Faizullah Kawshik.
