Nagad transactions hit its monthly record of Tk 40,000 crore in January
Nagad, the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Post Office, processed Tk 40,301 crore in transactions in January, the highest monthly volume in its history.
The record was achieved within seven years of Nagad’s operations, reflecting steady growth in both customer numbers and transaction frequency, says a press release. The January volume was driven mainly by cash-in and cash-out transactions, send money services, merchant and other payments, utility bill settlements, mobile recharges, and inward remittances.
Nagad Administrator Md. Motasem Billah said the milestone was the result of strong customer trust and the platform’s focus on user-friendly services.
“As a digital financial wing of the Bangladesh Post Office, Nagad is moving forward by ensuring greater security of customer funds and by expanding its range of services,” he said, adding that this approach continues to attract new users and increase engagement from existing customers.
The previous highest monthly transaction volume was recorded in October 2025, when transactions crossed Tk 34,705 crore. Other notable milestones include transactions exceeding Tk 34,000 crore in March 2025 and Tk 32,000 crore in June 2024.
Overall, Nagad recorded a total transaction volume of Tk 3.80 lakh crore in 2025, marking a significant rise from around Tk 3.30 lakh crore in 2024, underlining the mobile financial service provider’s continued growth momentum.
