Rotaract Club of NDC holds outreach programme at old age home

The Rotaract Club of Notre Dame College organised a community outreach programme titled “Window of Hearts” at the Bangladesh Association for the Aged and Institute of Geriatric Medicine (BAAIGM).

The programme was held on Saturday and focused on interaction between students and elderly residents, according to a press release.

The event began with speeches by Rotary Club of Motijheel President Md Enamul Haque, Rotaract Club of Notre Dame College President Wachir Talukder, officials of BAAIGM and other guests.

Activities included cultural performances, film screening, conversations with residents and a shared lunch.

Around 35 elderly residents of BAAIGM took part in the programme.

Organisers said the initiative aimed to address social isolation among elderly people and encourage empathy and humanitarian values among young people.

Club members said the programme was part of the organisation’s wider community service activities focused on social welfare and youth engagement.
