ShopUp expands food exports to Saudi Arabia, UK and UAE
ShopUp has exported 300 metric tonnes of rice to Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom under a government-approved export allocation.
The company said the shipments met the quality, compliance and logistics requirements of both markets, according to a press release.
ShopUp said the exports reflect its growing operational capacity to serve international markets, including countries with large South Asian diaspora communities.
The company has also expanded into the fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits segment, with products already reaching Gulf markets.
ShopUp said the fresh produce category requires faster logistics and tighter supply chain coordination compared to dry food products.
The company is also planning to expand exports of Bangladeshi food products including mustard oil, puffed rice and other dry food items.
ShopUp Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Ataur Rahim said, “Bangladesh produces far more than the world currently sees. Our goal is not to make occasional export shipments; it is to build the infrastructure that allows Bangladeshi food products to reliably reach global markets at scale.”
He added that rice and fresh produce are the starting point of a broader export expansion effort.
The company said its export activities align with Bangladesh’s export diversification plans under the Export Policy 2024–2027, which identifies agricultural and processed food products as priority sectors.
