Southeast University launches two-day job fair

Southeast University (SEU) inaugurated its two-day “Southeast University Job Fair 2026” at the university’s multipurpose hall.

The fair began at 10:00am and will continue through May 7 at the university campus, according to a press release.

Sayed Bin Abdullah, special assistant to the prime minister on youth employment, attended the opening ceremony as chief guest.

Engr Md Shamsuzzaman Nasim, managing director of Micro Fibre Group, attended as special guest.

A special speech was delivered by Advocate Niaz Ahmed, member of the Southeast University Board of Trustees.

The programme was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam.

Other speakers included Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, Registrar Major General (Retd) Anwarul Islam and Professor Md Serajul Islam, dean of the School of Business Administration and convener of the event.

The university said 55 multinational and local companies from sectors including banking, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, information technology, healthcare, hospitality and real estate are participating in the fair.

The event also includes seminars and career development sessions for students and job seekers.

Expected speakers at the sessions include UGC member Professor Md Anwar Hossain, Intertek Bangladesh Country HR Manager Santonu Hasan and ACI Director of Operations Muhammad Zahid Al Beruni.

The closing ceremony on May 7 is expected to be attended by Md Zonaid Abdur Rahim Saki, state minister for planning, as chief guest, and T M Asaduzzaman, senior education specialist at the World Bank, as special guest.
