The exhibition received an impressive 7,832 submissions from around the world, from which 50 single photographs and 7 photo stories were selected for display by a panel of judges comprising renowned Bangladeshi photographers Syed Latif Hossain, Sarker Protick, and Suborna Morsheada.
Mehabub Rahman Pritul, president of IUTPS, remarked about the event, "This year's edition of Break the Circle reinforces our mission to encourage critical thinking and artistic exploration. It stands as a testament to the growing influence of contemporary photography within our creative community."
The winners of the event in the singles category were respectively Shree Anik Das, Bijoy Krishna Paul, Yesir Arafat for first, second, and third prizes, and Xuhaef Rahman received an honourable mention. Al Araf, TM Muhin, and Rojat Pal won in the Breaking Story category, with Rahat Karim receiving an honourable mention.
Shree Anik Das, winner of the Single Category, shares his perspective on the win. "Taking photographs feels like you're a free bird in an open sky. Capturing the moments and emotions makes me happy. Photography is the way I express myself, and I want people to see what I see through my eyes."
The three-day-long exhibition gallery was open for all, including a segment called Artist Talk by Syed Latif Hossain on November 29, and a prize-giving ceremony followed by a cultural show on November 30. The exhibition attracted many attendees during the three-day period, including current students and alumni of the institutions, as well as participants, and general audiences.
