On August 3, 183 faculty members from North South University (NSU) released a statement expressing solidarity with the students, their families, and everyone affected by the unrest and violence that followed the quota reform protests.

626 faculty members across all departments and institutes of BRAC University released a joint statement on August 2 expressing their solidarity with the students, their families, and all those affected by the unrest that followed the quota reform protests. 

In an open letter to their students, several faculty members from BRAC University (BRACU) expressed their solidarity with them after the unrest that unfolded across the country in July following the quota reform protests. 

Following the arrests of hundreds of student, board examinees from colleges around the country took to social media to announce a firm, unified decision– examinees will boycott HSC entirely if even a single one of their batch-mates are still detained and not allowed to appear for the exams.

The recent movement saw a massively uneven distribution of power, where unarmed students were up against armed forces in full gear. In this reality, medical students have been trying their best to speak out against the atrocities being carried out. Alongside that, they’ve been using their skills to help save lives.

We believe there can be no future without the success and support of the students.

We spoke to students from different public and private universities who participated in the protests and asked about their personal experiences as well as their opinions regarding the newly reformed quota system.
