2 cops sued for ‘cheque forgery’

Two police officials have been sued for allegedly committing cheque forgery in Dhaka.

The accused Mir Abdul Kalam Azad, 54 and Md Mostafizur Rahman, 38, inspector and assistant sub-inspector respectively of Dhaka range police, tried to encash a cheque of Tk 35 lakh from the Office of the Chief Accounts Officer of the home ministry using fake signature, according to the case statement.

Officials from the Office of the Chief accounts Officer filed the case with Ramna Model Police Station on Wednesday.
