2kg gold recovered at airport

Customs Intelligence officials found 20 gold bars, worth Tk 1 crore and weighing 2kg, inside a toilet of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka yesterday.

The officials conducted a drive at the airport after being tipped-off about a consignment of gold arriving from Kuala Lumpur in a Bangladesh Biman flight, said Moinul Khan, director general of customs intelligence.

Offenders might have dropped the bars there sensing the drive, he added.
