5 truckloads of betel leaves seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized five trucks loaded with betel leaves worth Tk 1.27 crore from Natunhat area on Benapole-Jessore highway on Thursday night.

The drivers and helpers fled the scene and the seized goods were deposited to Jessore customs warehouse, said Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer of Jessore 26 BGB battalion.

A case was filed.
